Kiva Confections is an East Bay edibles maker founded in 2010 by Scott and Kristi Palmer, who made the first Kiva chocolate bars in their home kitchen. The company calls Oakland its hometown and lists its address in Alameda today. Its manufacturing is licensed by the state as a Type 6 and a Type N manufacturer under Kiva Manufacturing, Inc., with distribution under Kiva Sales and Service, Inc.
Kiva makes edibles and only edibles: chocolate bars under the Kiva name, Terra chocolate-covered bites, Petra mints, Camino gummies and Lost Farm gummies and chews. The standard adult-use package is the California maximum of 100 milligrams of THC, divided into servings the label marks: Terra bites at 5 milligrams a piece, Petra mints at 2.5, and the chocolate bars scored into squares.
Across the lines the per-piece figure is the thing to read. Kiva bars are scored into 5 milligram squares, with a High Dose range at 10 milligrams a square; Terra bites are 5 milligrams each; Petra mints are 2.5; Camino gummies are 5 or 10, the Camino Sours and fruit chews 10; Lost Farm pieces 10. Some pieces pair THC with CBD, CBN, CBG, THCV or CBC in a stated ratio, printed on the front of the box, and the state label on the back gives the tested THC and CBD content and the batch number. The company says every edible is made with all-natural ingredients and locally sourced cannabis.
The company celebrated fifteen years in December 2025. An edible counts toward California's daily limit by the weight of the extract inside it, which a 100 milligram package comes nowhere near, so a normal Kiva order barely touches it. - Five milligrams in the standard bars, which are scored so that a square is one serving, and 10 milligrams a square in the High Dose bars. A standard adult-use bar holds 100 milligrams in total, the California maximum for one package. The serving line on the box is the number to read before breaking off a second square.
- Are Camino and Lost Farm the same company as Kiva?
- Yes. Both are lines of Kiva Confections, made under the same state manufacturing licence in Alameda.
